Sarah Panzarella is the sole proprietor of Imagine, an American handcraft gallery and jewelry store in the village of Skaneateles. She was blessed to take over this wonderful business that her father started in 1994. Sarah is also a jeweler, with her work available at the gallery.
Sarah grew up surrounded by art, attending craft shows with her father, then working at the family’s gallery throughout high school. Sarah studied at Syracuse University earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics. She continued her studies at Bennington College where she earned a Masters of the Art of Teaching with a dual major of Art and Elementary education. After teaching public school for 3 years, Sarah returned home to Central New York where she tutored at her local high school, taught private ceramics classes, and helped her father at Imagine. In 2010 Imagine opened a 2nd location in the village of Skaneateles in anticipation of moving the shop while their former location was being renovated. It was at this point that Sarah began running the 2nd location on her own, and the foundation was laid for Sarah to take over Imagine while her father looked forward to some much-earned free time. At the same time, time Sarah was expecting her 2nd child, and was struggling with the time sensitive material of clay as a medium for her creativity. She began playing again with metal smithing, which was always her 2nd creative joy over the years. She found that working with metals was much more conducive to being a busy working mom. She has been making jewelry exclusively for the last 2 years now, and has found great joy in the rediscovery of this medium.
Sarah is honored to have a business in a community that is so supportive and passionate about the arts, it is with great pleasure that she now also sits on the SKARTS board.
