2011 SKARTS Grant Winners:
The Skaneateles Area Arts Council would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the 2011 recipients of our community support grants. Since 2006, the Council has issued more than $40,000 in grants and free concerts to the community. The 2011 grantees are:

Skaneateles Historical Society
Skaneateles Figure Skating Club
Symphony Syracuse – a new organization (created by former SSO musicians) to continue the annual free summer symphony concert in Skaneateles.
2010 SKARTS Grants Winners were:
- CNY JazzArts Foundation – Support for the “Jimmy Van Heusen Cabaret;” a supper-club experience theld at Anyela’s Vineyard in Skaneateles, on Sunday, June 13, 2010.
- Khoros Performing Arts Company & The Skaneateles Community Center – Funding for the “Curtain Call” after-school theatre arts program, and seed money to launch a Skaneateles Area Youth Artist Festival.
- Joanna Manring – Funding for two partial scholarships for the Jane Austen Singing School historical choral and dramatic performances.
- Pamela Spear – volunteer costume director for Skaneateles Summer Theatre, Skaneateles High School and Middle School Drama Programs, and Auburn Players.
- Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center – Support for the exhibit Quilts=Art=Quilts; October 30, 2010-January 9, 2011.
- Skaneateles Artisans – Funding to assist with awards for a Youth Art Show to be held in March 2011.
- Skaneateles Chamber of Commerce – assistance with adding a new activity to this year’s Dickens Christmas Event.
- Skaneateles Festival – Support for the Festival’s upcoming season, which will present 21 concerts and events over four weeks, August 11 to September 4.
- Skaneateles Summer Theatre – advertising and sponsorship for this summer’s production of Music Man.
- The John D. Barrow Art Gallery – Funding to digitally photograph and catalog the entire collection of 435 Barrow paintings.
2009 SKARTS Grants Winners were:
Grant recipients are the Auburn Chamber Orchestra, Auburn Public Theatre, Hetty Easter, Becky Flannigan, Lisa Ford, Khoros Performing Arts Company for Kids, Skaneateles Festival, Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and the Skaneateles Summer Theatre.
2008 SKARTS Grants Winners were:
Grant recipients are the John D. Barrow Art Gallery, Jordon Elbridge Middle School, Marcellus High School, Masterworks Chorale, Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center, Skaneateles Artisans, and the Skaneateles Festival.

The grants program began in 2006. In keeping with the mission of the Skaneateles Area Arts Council, which is to celebrate the visual and performing arts by creating an environment where cultural activity thrives in our community, we are delighted to receive so many diverse and well-deserved applications every year. We are greatly impressed with the depth, quality and uniqueness of the projects and requests that we receive from individuals or groups that live or work within 15 miles from the Skaneateles community. Please join us in celebrating the wonderful artistic community that we live in and the generous artists and cultural groups that share their talents!
